French Rolling Pin

A tapered French rolling pin in walnut and maple with Celtic knot design.

The rolling pin is 20" long and 1.5" diameter at the center, 1.25" diameter at the ends. No inlay, constructed of solid wood. Maple and walnut knot segments are .125" thick and the total knot lengthis aproximatly 11" long. The arc of the rolling pin is continous over the entire length.

Finished with Bumble Bee wax- a combination of mineral oil and bee's wax (75% oil, 25% wax).

Segmented Lidded Cone With Finial on Stand

This segmented cone is composed of walnut and hard maple rings with a segmented walnut top that includes an African Blackwood finial . The cone sits in a segmented walnut ring with three matching African Blackwood legs. A walnut ring in the body of the cone is matched and mated with the internal angle of the walnut ring attached to the three African Blackwood legs. The body of the cone is 8+" with a 3 1/2" finial for a total of 11+". The cone walls are approximately 3/8" thick. There are 185 pieces in the project that was made in 2018. I am a hobbyest woodworker/turner and have never sold my projects.

Segmented lidded Box with Finial

This segmented lidded box with finial was made in 2018 and is a combination of walnut, hard maple and African Blackwood. The walnut and hard maple segmentsed box is approximately 11 1/4" tall and 7" in diameter at the widest point with a 2 1/2" African Blakwood finial. The 132 segments were cut on a table saw using a jig that I built based on plans obtained on the internet and in woodturning magazines. Most of the rings are 16 pieces. Each ring was glued and sanded before gluing the individual rings together. The rings were assembled in managable groups for turning and shaping into aproximated 1/4" thick walls. The walnut was sourced from a friends yard and and the maple and blackwood were purchased from wood suppliers.

The entire piece was sanded with 120 to 400 grit sandpaper and finished with several coats of General Finishes Seal-a-Cell Clear and Gel Topcoat Wipe on Urethane Satin.

I am a hobbyist woodworker/turner and never have sold my woodturnings.
