The vase was turned from spalted beech after turning it was sanded up to 1200 grit and finished with beeswax. The zip opening and recess for the closed zip were then marked out and carved with a dremel hand chisels a glass was then fitted inside to allow real flowers to be fitted.

Out Of The Steps

"Out Of The Steps" This is a piece of elm turned 1/2" thick green I then put it in a brown paper bag and let dry after about a month went by I remembered and to my surprise it was dry. I returned it and sanded it tip final grit. I left the piece un finished as it gives it that real pueblo feel. The ladder is made from elm branches all hand carved. 7.5" diameter and 4.625" tall without ladder Elm Unfinished

Wheel Of Delicacy (Butterfly Effect)

Wheel Of Delicacy #3 Butterfly Effect My latest in my wheel series has taken a new turn , while there is no color added ,it is a lot wider than my last two, and is a lot more challenging with the glue up as well as the piercing , I chose no wood burning or color on this piece ,cause i wanted to see how well it speaks with out it. I think i like this wide style a little more . and have many more directions i can take this . wood is box elder and its 10 " in diameter and 5.25" wide the inside is diameter is 6.125"

Maple Spiral Carved and Painted Bowl

This Big Leaf Maple Burl bowl was handcarved with coves and raised beads on the outside. The beads were stippled by hand with a small spherical pyrographic burning pen. Then the coves and beads were painted with 2 coats of metallic blue and green acrylic paint. Finally, the piece was finished with a wipe-on oil finish and polished by buffing.

Ambrosia Maple Spiral Fluted Vase

This large vase was turned from "Ambrosia" maple. The tree was attacked by the Ambrosia beetle creating the interesting streaks of brown and gray color. The vase stands 20 3/4" tall. After the vase was hollowed, the spiral flutes were laid out and hand-carved over the span of a month. It was finished with a hand-rubbed oil finish and then polished.
