This Goodwill find was given some new love and was the perfect addition for a little girl's bedroom! The original piece had seen quite a few restorations and needed to be completely stripped before painting. Once bare I used two shades of pink to create a blended effect along the front of the piece. I then removed the interior drawers and added a bar to hang tutu's. I hand-painted the floral design on the inner doors to compliment the existing decor in the room. The finishing touch was the two picture frames I found that I painted and used as molding on the front of the doors. The doors seemed bare and finding those french provenical themed frames was the perfect addition! I used clamps and wood glue to attach them.

This beautiful vintage piece was in sad shape. I rebuilt two drawers as well as general repairs. I had a vision to bring her back to life with a elegant yet whimsical finish. The custom three dimensional raised floral mixed with iron bird pulls prompted me to name her the "bird and branch". To date its one of my favorite pieces.

Molly Ringwald is "Pretty In Pink"! She started as a "Plain Jane" 1980s bookshelf with no detail to speak of; all edges were simple and round. She was meant solely for the purpose of holding books and trinkets. Every bit of trim detail was added during her upstyle. She's feeling like a brand new piece! Last but not least, she was updated with a smooth, sprayed finish in Dynamo. And just like that she was ready for her next life in a custom home office!

Half moon beauty

From a dark mahogany half moon table to a very modern stylish piece, using GF linen paint on the body , the top was in a he'll of a state so it was sanded right back with my trusted mouse sander, I then applied 3 coats of GF antique oak water based stain to give the top beautiful finish, sealed whole piece with GF HPTC in flat, I was very happy at this stage but she needed a bit of a wow factor so I decided to try out bendable afex moulding for the first time, I was soo impressed when I painted the moulding in GF linen and rubbed some gold rub n buff to accentuate the details. Standing proudly now to be Reloved for many more years

This beauty was given to me by an antique dealer. The original mahogany finish was cracking and peeling. The veneer was lifted and in some places gone completely. The original lock was broken and it had no key. I brought her home, cleaned her up really nice and sanded away. Removed all the gunk, filled the broken veneer, scrubbed her down and primed her. I added the large and 2 smaller appliques and drilled a hole for a new knob as well as new magnets inside to keep the door closed. I painted her with Timeless by America Decor and added Antique glaze for depth, finally sealed and up for sale.

Vintage Vanity Given New Life

This vintage vanity was in rough shape and needed a complete overhaul. Sanded it all down, filled with wood putty, 3 coats of primer. Then I added the IOD moulds to the drawers. The bottom of the mirror had severe veneer damage, so I used wood molding to cover it then the IOD molds over that to make it seem as if it were always there. Gray, white and silver paint for the finishing touch.

Tea Rose Chest

She looks so sweet and innocent, but she was indeed a beast! I had intended to do what I call "straight paint" and just let the beautiful color speak for itself. She was having none of it.....and so I just went with the flow. The color is Tea Rose by Dixie Belle - I'm going to call it 2 coats not counting the one I had to paint after the glue mishap. I made the appliques using IOD moulds and hot glue (first time I did that!). I painted and aged the pulls and appliques with Valspar Antiquing Glaze. They looked lovely and I slept well. The following day, I applied the appliques with contact cement (ergo the glue mishap I was speaking of). Let's just say there is a learning curve involved with contact cement. Over the next couple of days I top coated with 3 coats of General Finishes High Performance Satin and it was lovely! And then I started thinking.....wouldn't it be nice if the corners of the drawers were just a little aged? So I did...and it was not lovely and that is when I discovered I am not a master blender. Panic set in and I forgot everything I ever knew about everything.... there was a moment when I caught myself licking my thumb and trying to wipe stuff off like my Mom used to do to my face! I finally just gave up and walked away....for 3.5 minutes because I am impatient and not a rational person. I got down to business and taught myself a new technique called "angry glazing". I am thinking "If it is glazing she wants.... it is glazing she will get (again, not a rational person)!!! I glazed vertically, I glazed horizontally and I then I glazed some more because I was angry at a piece of furniture! I was tired, she looked ok and I slept well. To seal the glaze I used Krylon flat crystal clear spray... just sprayed a few light coats and she was done. I am sure you can't tell but I am not a professional furniture painter. I just love trying new things and I tried lots of new things on this piece! I love the experience and I am not easily deterred! Take that pink lady!

Old Books

I just love painting old books and bringing a new life into them. I used Dixie Belle Paint Products as well as General Finishes products. I first started out making moulds with resin using my IOD Moulds. I glued them on the old books and let dry, I then applied the paint and added General Finishes High Performance Topcoat in Flat. I let that dry then added General Finishes Pitch Black Glaze and used Baby Wipes to wipe off excess glaze. Once I got my desired look I let the glaze dry and then applied another coat of General Finishes High Performance Topcoat in Flat. This is a cheap and easy way to decorate around your home. The possibilities are endless!!

Embellished Christmas Ornament

Christmas trees will never be the same again! This plain ole' paper mache' ball has been transformed into a work of art and truly not just for Christmas anymore! Once cleaned of all oils, it was painted with one coat of GF Antique White. Applique was made using an IOD silicomn mould and paper clay and was added to each side and a small one at the top hanger. Once the paper clay was dried, another 2 coats of GF Antique White was applied. Age and depth was added by using Amy Howard Antiquing Wax.
