I thrifted this vintage 8-track and record player and fell in love with it! It wasn't working when I found it but luckily my husband is a DJ and was able to fix it! Such a unique piece needed a unique finish. I used several chalk paint colors and wet mixed them to get the desired finish. I then used patina products to "age" the piece and green and bronze gilding wax for accents. I covered the mesh over the front speakers with canvas so it wouldn't affect the sound but give a more complete look to the front.

What a fun time creating this groovy look! I painted the entire piece of this awesome Mermen style dresser in Coral Reef. I then blended Baby Doll pink in the center of the drawers. Misting with water to blend the two colors. I then added kissing booth to the frame of the dresser above drawers as well. I then sprayed the entire dresser with water allowing the paint to drip and run down. I used two full bottles of water to hit some of the areas hard and some lighter, allowing for the different variations. I then spray painted the handles in a metallic gold and added crystal knobs. The sides of the dresser I painted in a ombré look with the kissing booth and Coral Reef, blending upward and downward. I then accented around the legs and drawers with Metallic gold. This is one of my favorite pieces to date. The colors are so lovely together. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Boho Bench

The natural pine finish of this bench had become dated and boring. To spice things up, a color wash in hues of blue were layered and applied in all the right places. To frame out the new color, the original pine finish was darkened with water based wood stain in walnut. The entire piece was then top coated to protect the finish.

The little sweetheart was created with the imagination that she would end up in a little girl’s room with tiny ballet slipper strings hanging out of one of the drawers. I imagined that the little girl would grow to use the mirror to one day touch up her lip gloss right before she hurried out the door to school, keeping that in mind I started with a beautiful deep pink and blended down to a very soft neutral tone for a beautiful whimsical look.

Boho Betty starts with a wine red front and fades into an array of turquoise, blue and purple. She’s topped in a bright refreshing turquoise. She’s glazed in black and top coated in flat finish. She also wears some flashes of gold here and there just because she can!

Dreaming in Navy

My modern Boho dream in a multi-dimensional navy.

One coat of grey followed by one coat of Yankee Blue, followed by an allover wash of navy creates light-reflecting interest. The goldtone hardware and Gilding wax complete the look for a striking new neutral.
