This small, ornate dresser came to us on a salvage trip, in pieces. Once repairs were made, the dresser was painted in General Finishes Tuscan Red Milk Paint, then glazed with General Finishes Van Dyke Brown Glaze Effects. Prior to going to her new home, this lovely little piece was sealed using General Finishes High Performance TopCoat in Satin, and adorned with funky, oversized black porcelain modernized pumpkin knobs.

The Valentine Dresser

I revitalized this antique dresser made by Morris, Murch & Blake Furniture of Boston. I call this the Valentine Dresser. This antique beauty dates back to approximately 1900-1910 and sits on four caster wooden wheels. I sanded the top, stained it a dark Java color and applied two coats of satin poly for protection. The rest of the dresser was painted a rich red color. Part of the dresser has a black antique glaze applied to it to add depth and allow the bold red drawers to pop against the glazed areas. When you pull out each drawer you can see that I've stenciled arrows on each side of the drawers. These arrows match the gold arrow handles perfectly.

Her Mother’s Red Dress

Our client asked if we could finish this sidebar to match the color and look it had when her mother first purchased it, many years prior. GF Brick Red was such a perfect match to the original color on the interior. To match the finish of the original piece, we used a wash technique, applying many thin layers of the watered down color until it was absolutely perfect. The tears in our client’s eyes said it all. She was so happy to see her Mother’s piece restored. “My mother always loved red!... She would have loved this.”

Like Red On A Rose

After Cleaning with a 50/50 solution of denatured alcohol and water, then sanding with a 220 sanding pad, Like Red On A Rose was painted with two coats of General Finishes Holiday Red Milk Paint, using a HVLP spray gun. The paint was thinned using 10% General Finishes Extender. The first coat of paint was applied using the guns siphon for finer atomization. The second coat was applied using the standard pressure application from the spray gun. Tip size on the gun is 1.88.

Water damaged and wobbly, this little table was covered in old magazines at an estate sale. She hadn’t seen the light of day in years. Like Cinderella, she was waiting for her moment to shine.

This slim little table was given a bold coat of luxurious red and washed with Lamp Black to add distinction and depth. Her body and legs were wrapped in General Finishes High Performance Top Coat. She was topped with a vintage inspired world map and a glossy water proof coating. The drawer is lined with an authentic old world map print and she has her original brass hardware. She can be used as a small side table or, with both leaves up, can function as an intimate dining table for two.

A set fit for a true queen! This vintage French Provincial vanity was hand painted in a royal ruby red and topped with rich black glaze to accentuate all her amazing curves. She has four immaculate dovetailed drawers that have been restored leaving their glorious woodgrain bottoms exposed. Each drawer is crowned with spectacular original gold hardware. Her spacious center compartment has been painted a gorgeous antiqued gold and the bottom was lined in a bold, yet classic, black and white striped specialty limestone paper. She has her original beveled mirror, which is in fabulous condition and comes complete with its golden medallion hardware. This is the ultimate one-of-a-kind glam station!

The vintage heart backed gold throne is a rare gem of a find. The chair’s frame was hand painted in a layered technique giving the metallic color an aged golden glow. The tufted cushion and seat back have been reupholstered in the deepest lush black velvet and finished off with a beautiful double welt trim. Quite the throne for a queen.

Asian Inspired Dresser

This dresser had beautiful Asian handles but the wood was a very dark grey. I knew the only way this piece was going to get noticed was to add a pop of color. The GF Holiday Red with a GF Lamp Black over coat was exactly what this piece needed to accent it's Asian inspired design.
