'Carmichael' came to my studio in March. I knew from the moment I found this elegant buffet it had to be a twist between rustic an ocean view. Where furniture clashes with art.

Blessed & Blue Locker Doors

Why use baskets on open shelving when you can make doors? These open white shelves were blessed with these beautiful, blue, locker style doors! This blue is chameleon like as well. Nice and cheery in the morning with the natural light and more toned down and muted as light grows dim. There is no better color for a home office or school room!

As far as making the doors, the wood was cut the size of the openings, and then was painted with a coat of General Finishes Persian Blue and then coated with Flat Out Flat finish.

To give them that fantastic old locker feel, some original Lyons locker tags were attached, along with an antique brass label pull. The doors were attached with antique brass hinges and easily fastened closed with some magnetic touch latches.

This sweet little darling was blended to perfection and adorned with her original crystal knobs that were brought back to life so they could shine as bright as the piece they are on. Dripping with layer after layer of beautiful blues makes me think of the sand and sun at the beach.

Harbour Islands Coffee Table

My inspiration for this coffee table was Harbour Island, Bahamas. It's known for it's long pink sand beaches and turquoise waters. This antique coffee table was hand painted and sealed with clear wax. The original metal claw feet were refinished in a metallic gold.

New England Sunset Dresser

From yard sale drab to FAB!!! I call this piece my New England Sunset Dresser. This three drawer antique dresser dates back to 1870-1900. The dresser drawers were hand painted with beautiful coastal colors and the rest of the dresser was painted a soft white. The top was sanded and stained with a dark java color.

Beautiful Blue Dresser

This dresser has been painted in a custom mix of Snow White, Patina Green, and Halcyon Blue Milk Paint. It's been sealed all over with High Performance Top Coat in Satin, and sprayed with a Fuji Spray professional sprayer for a smooth finish.

This aged oak dry sink had seen better days. With a boho inspired finish, it was made perfect for a coastal retreat. It's a welcoming piece after a day in the sun.

The piece was fully prepped and sanded. The base color is GF Key West Blue chalk paint. It was then wet brushed with GF Coastal Blue, and then Persimmon. After a clear coat, the piece was highlighted with BM copper glaze.
