Added GF Van Dyke Glaze for shading and some beautiful gold floral stenciling. Let's not forget the stripes on the leaf of the table! And of course every dining table needs GF High Performance Top Coat to protect the awesome design from everyday use.

Sunset Dreams

I really had a strong desire to use yellow, orange, and red togther. Like the sunset. Add in a little color of the clouds & water and you have Sunset Dreams! Used some GF Sunglow, GF Persimmon, and GF Holiday Red to create the base colors of this dresser. Add in some blues, grays, creams and a bit of GF Van Dyke Brown to complete the look!

A Splash of French Parfume

This vintage waterfall dresser didn't need much in the way of repairs. After prepping this old gal for paint, she received a couple coats of Driftwood milk paint as the base. We followed it up with a thinned coat of Antique White to give it the appearance of age. We found an vintage French Parfume ad that would fit perfectly on the front of the dresser. We then hand painted the details of the ad on the face of the dresser, followed by some additional distressing for an even more aged appearance. The entire piece was sealed with High Performance Poly in Satin for protection. The finishing touch was glass knobs for a touch of sparkle.

Rehabbed Dresser

I found this diamond in the rough online advertised as a Pinterest fail. Their loss my gain, right! An entire day of heat guns and sanding I had to change gears. Made lemonade out of lemons. Got creative and hid the deep gouges with a paintable wallpaper. Turned out fantastic. The amazing client contacted me year later to have matching nightstands made. Win win.

Vintage Dresser Brought Back to Life

It took some patience to do this project!! It took a couple of days stripping this dresser down to the original wood, and a day of sanding starting off in stages using 120 grit, and then to 180 grit, and finally 220 grit. Wiped down entire dresser with mineral spirits, and started the staining process by applying 3 coats of General Finishes "Georgian Cherry" gel stain to the top and drawers, and then spraying 3 coats of General Finishes "Snow White" milk paint to the body. I finished it all off with 3 coats of General Finishes "Top Coat" satin. I added black pull knobs to give the dresser some character.

Table and chairs painted with General Finishes lamp black milk paint. Then crackle medium was used. Then painted with DIY tourqoise chalk paint. Top of table General Finishes Java gel. Top coated with General Finishes High Performance flat seats were upholstered with coordinating fabric.

Darling Vintage Vanity/Desk w/Chair

Because this vanity-turned-desk is low at a lil over 26" tall, I knew I had to come up with something to overcome it's height. I chose Antique White Milk Paint for its light color because a dark color would only make the desk look smaller. To further enhance the petite desk, I decoupaged floral scrapbook paper to the drawer fronts and color mixed a hot pink color from Snow White and Holiday Red Milk Paints. The chair and drawer insides were painted in Annie Sloans' Provence Chalk Paint for an added touch of fun color. Everything was sealed with High Performance Top Coat in Satin. I am so pleased with the outcome.

Hand Carved Bombay Chest

The "mean girl" chest turned into the "beauty" chest It seems like every item of furniture I acquire comes with a story and I end up naming the furniture. Can you believe this chest was called the “mean girl”? Here is how it received the mean girl name. My amazing sister and I were trying to figure out how to carry this heavy chest down two stories of very narrow stairs when a little girl came up to my sister punched and then kicked her, ouch! I guess this little girl was not happy to see this chest go, lol.

How I transformed this beauty…

The top of the Bombay chest was cleaned, stripped and then sanded. I then used GF Antique Walnut Gel Stain let the top dry for several days. I then applied GF whitewash wood stain, wiped the stain off then applied weathered gray stain. I then repeated the process again… GF Antique Walnut Gel Stain, GF whitewash wood stain, and GF weathered gray stain. I sealed the top with 4 coats of General Finishes High Performance Topcoat.

The body of the chest was cleaned and sanded with 180 sand paper. I applied a custom mix of DIY paint. I then applied texture powder randomly. I sealed the chest with 3 coats of HPTC. For the finishing touches I used Country Chic Antiquing Wax.

'HAZEL' SWEET DREAM BED

Sweet mahogany with all the right curves and carvings soaked up all the beautiful GF Basil Milk paint with gold pearl finishes sealed with a glass finish of Eurovar. Snow white and bits of coastal blue and dark chocolate shading to make anyone stream all night long.

AGED TO PERFECTION

Soooo many techniques were used on this. I used many colors of DIY chalk paints and texture medium along with crackle medium. I also used General Finishes milk paint in lamp black in a few areas to add a "dirty" aged appearance. After I was happy with the overall look I used a homemade glaze in burnt umber. The top of the dresser is done in golden pine General Finishes gel stain. From top to bottom it's sealed with General Finishes High Performance in flat.
